A member asked:

My son has been moved over from ritalin to nuecon increasing his dosage from 20mg to 27mg long acting. since we started with this medication he suddenly started getting epilepsy fits. he never had it. he was diagnosed at the age of 4 with petite mal ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not unusual : Any of the psycho-stimulants like Ritalin, which is essentially the same as Nuecon (different long acting form) lower the seizure threshold. This permits them to appear when thy would not. You may need to work with his docs to find a better option.
