A disease of lies: Addicts lie, it's a fact. But this is not b/c they are bad people but b/c every positive motivation they have is hijacked by the need to use. Deciding to stop is good but not enough. The 3 things that move us are thoughts, feelings & biology. We think the mind is the captain but the emotions or the body can easily overrule a mental decision. When the 2 gang up vs. The mind it's like possession.

Disease of Addiction: This could be the Suboxone but it also depends on where he is in his withdrawal or post acute withdrawal process. It may be best to get help in person from the physician who is managing his care and Suboxone prescription now. I would also wish for you and him that he be in some kind of twelve step program with fellowship.

It : It sounds like the only help your son is seeking out is his primary care provider (pcp) for help with his anxiety. This is a tricky situation because your son is an adult, and he has to take responsibility for his own health and care, and if he does not think he has a problem then he won't seek help.On the other hand, if your son allows you to be a part of his medical care then maybe you can go with him on his next visit and bring the situation up, with his permission of course, and then you all can discuss treatment options for your son, namely a therapist or psychiatry visit. 
You have to remember you can only be involved as much as your son will allow you to be.. Unless he becomes a harm to himself or another there is not much you can do. 
Have you ever tried to talk to him about your concerns? This is probably the best place to start.

Could be anything: Getting "high" usually includes a sense of euphoria and decreased inhibition. The symptoms you describe could be from abuse of almost anything or even represent an underlying medical or psychological condition. Have you talked to her about getting help? Also, not to be judgemental, but i hope you are not on all 3 of the medications on your profile at the same time. Opiates can be addictive.
