All and None: All approved HIV tests can give an accurate and reliable result to show the status of the person being tested. The test doesn't have to be expensive. The doctor can discuss what the result means, because the result means different things in different patients, depending on the patient's history and risk factors. That means no test will show whether or not a person got new HIV in the past 24 hours!

Highly unlikely: Would not expect the symptoms to come on within days after the initial exposure from HIV. If your symptoms lasted only a day, it is more likely from a viral infection and possibly food poisoning.  Let this worry teach you that it is better to practice safe sex than to be worried over getting STD after each encounter.

: You can have 100% confidence. Negative results with the modern antibody tests ("third generation") are completely reliable more than 8 weeks after the last possible exposure, and rapid home tests are just as reliable as lab based tests. Some experts still advise 90 days, but you're well beyond even that. You can stop worrying and don't need any further tests.
