my left hand middle finger started to hurt causing electric like tinglings all over that arm up to my left side of face (since last week). index finger hurting too including left shoulder pain and left leg finger pain. going through a lot of stress?

: I doubt these symptoms are due to stress. They are characteristic of a neurological problem. If only the shoulder and hand were involved, a radiculopathy from a bulging disc in your neck would be suspected, but with the left side of the face and the left leg also involved, a lesion in the right cerebral cortex of the brain would be a concern. A neurologist is best to evaluate and advise you.

for several nights i woke up with numbness in my left hand.  the numbness in my fingers goes away during the day, but i have feeling of numbness/tightness in my upper left arm and overall weakness in my left arm to my hand. what could it be? stroke?

Pinched nerve: It sounds more, based on pattern, as a compressed nerve. It can be at the cervical spine level, shoulder or even carpal tunnel which would be wrist. Starting with an exam with your doc should help and determining the cause of your symptoms. Stroke does not appear likely at this point.

29yrs old with pain in my left arm,hand &fingers also sharp pain on left side of chest. what else could it be besides costochondritis?

i have a sharp pain in my left hand side of my upper chest close to my shoulder when moving my left arm. the pain seems to travel to the back when i pull my arm back. if i am still theres no pain but occurs whenever i move other parts of my body.

Strain/injury: Pain on movement can typically be traced back to a strain or minor muscle injury. Avoid positions that make the pain worse. Do not do any lifting or pulling with that arm. Wear a sling for comfort. Take NSAIDS for antiinflammatory effect. Rest the area so healing can occur. Use alternating hot and cold packs to alleviate the pain. Talk to a Dr if the pain does not resolve in 2 weeks time.

Chest pain?: It sounds to me like you should be evaluated to rule out a heart attack right away.  Better safe than sorry.

: Get electro myogram  for left carpel tunnel syndrome,  in the mean time you can use wrist splint and if your doctor will like to use diuretic if appropriate. Hope it helps.

my hubby (33) woke up with a sore upper left arm, and numbness in his pointer and middle finger (of left hand). what might the cause be?

Nerve issue : Pain and numbness in a limb sounds like a pinched nerve.  It can be pinched in the neck or wrist  as well as possibly other places in the arm.  Carpal tunnel can cause these symptoms as well and often cause numbess in thumb and index finger.  You can try over the counter nsaids and a wrist splint but if sx aren't going away and especially if you have weakness you should see your doc.

i lose control of my left hand occasionally. my fingers all spread apart, my eyes widen, and my left arm involuntarily lifts above my head. any ideas?

See your doc: I think it would be atypical, but it might be a variant of a seizure.  Might be worth getting a neurology evaluation.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

good evening. i have an aching pain in the back of my left shoulder & upper left arm. my fingers & thumb on my left hand go numb & tingles?

Nerve entrapement: See your family doctor and he will probably order a nerve conduction test to see what is going on.  It could be a problem at the wrist, elbow, or shoulder
