Unlikely: If you think you have meningitis, go to a hospital emergency department right away! Meningitis is a potentially fatal condition. It is very unlikely there is any connection between your root canal tooth and meningitis. There are many, many causes for headaches. Let your doctors find out what they are.

Root Canal: Rule of thumb, I generally tell the patient  the first 24 hrs are the roughest.  Did the dentist prescribe antibiotics? pain killer?  Headache may be coincidental, especially if you are prone to them.   Best bet is contact your dentist .

TMJ disorders: Even though you were 100% healthy or headache free before you had the root canal done .. Your symptoms somehow not related to root canal treatment . Your symptoms indicating TMJ disorders . Please get evaluated by a well trained dentist in the field .

Root canal pain: You should not be having root canal pain continuing this long.  Call your orthodontist who did the root canal to ask to be reexamined as the pain persists.

Not Uncommon: If OTC pain meds do not help, give your treating dentist a call. Pain should diminish in a day or two.

Comorbidity: Your headache is existing simultaneously but independently with the root canal infection or it can indicate a related condition. To rule out the connection, fix the tooth infection first. If headache persist see headache specialist.
