i have bony growths on my external upper and lower gums. i believe they are tori? can they be removed? what kind of procedure? my dentist isnt concerned but i am?

: You are correct, they are tori and harmless. Only need to have them removed if you are making a full denture. See an oral surgeon for an evaluation and cost estimate if you really want them removed.

what is this thing on my gums? i have had a hard bone like growth on my bottom front tooth it seems to be connected to the broken tooth which is there. there was an abscess a long time ago that burst and left a hole in my gum. now the broken tooth

Hard : Hard to tell sight unseen and without a radiograph, but it sounds like the abcess and broken tooth you left untreated for such a long time has created a substancial amount of bone loss around that tooth. It could be that the root end is poking through the hole in your bone and sticking into your gum tissue.

Not a healthy situation.

Obviously you understand that you need to go see a dentist to have the tooth extracted. The dentist who extracts the tooth will determine if it is indeed the root end or something else. Please go and be seen as soon as possible to avoid further complications or massive infection.

every aprox 4-6mo my 3rd molar has a growth spurt (i'm 25yo), when this happens my gums around it get swollen and sore 4 aprox a week, do i need abx?

You need OS: There is not enough room for your wisdom teeth or they are positioned to accumulate bacteria. If the infection is reoccurring you should see your dentist or an os (oral surgeon) for evaluation ANS treatment.

From : From your description, it sounds like it could be an "exostosis", a bony outgrowth.

You should see an oral surgeon to determine if that is what it is. A differential diagnosis cannot be given over the internet, sight onseen.

is it normal to have gum tissue sloughing off after a crown prep (in the area of the prep)?  if not, what are the possible/likely causes?

Tissue sloughing: Tissue sloughing is not normal under any circumstances. Did you have an impression taken after the crown preparation?  You may have had a reaction to the materials used to retract the gum tissue, or to the impression material. 
Or perhaps a reaction to any anesthetic used in the gum tissue around the tooth.
In any case, return to have your dentist examine the area.

Gum lesions?: Depending on the clinical picture, gums can "peel" or slough off due to gum disease, trauma, viral, bacteria or other miscellaneous causes. One of the best ways to help things heal in general is to keep them clean, eat a healthy diet, avoid further irritation and get sufficient rest.  If you have had recent dental treatment, ask your dentist for more specific advice.

Trauma: Fortunately oral mucosa heals rapidly because it is so vascularized. It just needs tincture of time. Don'r brush the injured area, Instead gently wipe it, twice a day, with a soft moistened cloth.
