Med side effects: Gilbert's syndrome or disease is not directly of any danger to you.  However, you may be more susceptible to side effects from certain medications, so make sure anyone prescribing you medication knows you have Gilbert's syndrome.  Also, there is a risk of assuming that the associated jaundice is due to the Gilbert's when it might be something else.

Statin: has strong reliable effects on lowering heart attack and stroke. Diet..... especially a high fat diet... no. Drugs that just lower dietary contribution to blood cholesterol (cholestryramine) didn't work well on prevention.
Exercise under supervision, more helpful. Statins can cause fat to replace liver--needs imaging tests to monitor if other liver disease.

i have done blood test and liver function test 3 weeks ago, where liver function count came normal then after 3 weeks (today) i have done the liver function test , serum bilirubin came as 44 umol and will it be gilbert syndrome ?? liver disease??

: We need your medical history for a correct answer. What was the indication for repeated liver test within 3 weeks? High serum bilirubin in Gilbert syndrome (total bilirubin less than 50 umol) comes from indirect bilirubin so if your direct bilirubin is high then problem is likely not from Gilbert syndrome. If you have an immediate family member has this condition then Gilbert syndrome is possible.

: There is no relationship between chronic kidney disease stage 3A (GFR 45-60 cc/min) and Gilbert's syndrome. I wonder if this mildly reduced GFR is new to you (acute or subacute) or your GFR has been declining for years (chronic).

High bilirubin: Gilbert's non-disease affects a few percent of folks. The liver doesn't process bilirubin quite so well as other folks, and the serum bilirubin runs high. It increases more if you miss a few meals. It's nothing to worry about.

It results in an overabundance of a substance known as bilirubin. Some people develop yellowing of the skin or eyes, but many have no symptoms at all. Gilbert syndrome is not dangerous and does not cause long-term problems, it is not necessary to treat Gilbert syndrome.
