Acid reflux: Acid reflux is a sign of lower esophageal sphincter failure.  There are many thoughts for the causes of les failure.  Obesity, short esophagus, etc.  Gall stones and acid reflux can be treated medically and surgically so don't suffer. Hope this helps.

See a surgeon: What needs to be done depends on how severe your reflux symptoms are and whether or not, you have been under treatment. Symptomatic gall stones require cholecystectomy for treatment. A surgeon will be able to evaluate you and recommend the appropriate treatment.

Stones vs GERD: Gallstones are hard materia made of bile from gallbladder.  They live in gallbladder until they are squeezed into the small intestine.  Sometimes that squeezing hurts and blocks up.  Acid reflux is stomach contents mixed with stomach acid go into esophagus.  This has very little do do with the gallbladder except that both issues cause pain after eating sometimes and can be confused.

See below: The short answer is no. The two do not share a common root cause and therefore cannot directly impact one another. Conversely, the symptoms of these two maladies share significant overlap and are frequently confused for one another. If you do indeed have both you may be suffering symptoms of both. Consult with your doctor to be sure you are being adequately treated.

inflamed gallbladder. hida scan shows 29%. no gallstones. symptoms are not severe, minor back pain, nausea, elevated pancreas levels (301), acid reflux. any other option besides surgery? if so, what?

Spasm: My understanding is that there is no visualization of the gall bladder when it's inflamed. Sometimes sludge in the gall bladder without stones or spasm of the gall bladder sphincter can produce symptoms similar to gall stones. I would consult a general surgeon to analyze your symptoms.

is it considered to be a normal symptom for a gastric ulcer and gallstone patient to have to sleep sitting up straight due to burning pain in stomach area if lying down. i have no acid reflux. i'm already on 40mg x 2 of ppi. this was after chocolate.

Reflux: It's true that the discomfort of reflux occurs in the esophageal area(chest) especially in the reclining position. In my experience gastric ulcers often have atypical symptoms and it could be causing your distress or perhaps reflux is being felt in the lower esophagus near the stomach junction. Chocolate can produce reflux. Since you're so symptomatic, I hope you're under the care of a gastroenter

GI issue: The bloating could be related to air swallowing secondary to gerd. Try some over the counter anti-gas tablets with simethicone. If no help, see your doctor or a gastroenterologist to find out more.

: It could. Try an antacid for a few weeks and if not better pl see a GI doc for further evaluation. Hope you feel better

Nonspecific: There are a number of possibilities, including soft tissue inflammation, muscle sprain/strain, facet mediated pain, rib fracture, herniated disc, intrathoracic pathology, etc, as well as pinched nerve and acid reflux as you have stated.  If your symptoms do not improve with time and conservative treatment (i.e. Anti-inflammatory meds), do see a physician.
