Foot injury: A fracture will put you out at least 6 weeks. A contusion may only be a week.

5 weeks ago - contusion & maybe sprain on foot - x-rays = no fracture; excess pressure (dance) = pain. how expedite healing? any natural anti inflama?

Occult fx: If your pain persists you may an occult fx.  Get a repeat xray and see a podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon.

Potentially : Bruising represents bleeding into an area of soft tissues and usually resorbs over a 10-14 day period.  A fracture takes usually 6-8 weeks to heal and may be associated with an ongoing inflammatory process during that time.

History incomplete. : The easiest way to put it, is to see a doctor and have the fracture evaluated. You did not mention if you had care of any kind. Which bone fractured? Etc, etc.

is the ankle considered fractured when you hear crunching noises with pain? i recently twisted my ankle and fell. there is no bruise but swelling and pain. i also jus got out of bed and put the foot on the floor and it has painfully crunched. explain?

Ankle fracture: Given that you have pain and swelling it would be advisable to get an x-ray to evaluate this. Unable to determine if there is a fracture or not based on what you stated.

i droped a hair dryer on my foot right under the big toe.. looks a little bruise but hurts. is it fractured?

Maybe: Could be, but we don't do much for toe fractures other than a post-op (rigid sole) shoe and weight bear as tolerated.

Yes it is: Usually when you fracture your foot, the bone bleed, with gravity the blood travel to the bottom and form what we call hematoma, it take a little time to go away.

if my foot has a stress fracture and now has a bruise does that mean it's healing?

Depends: Bruising (black and blue) occurs after a fracture when blood slowly settles in the soft tissue. It will resolve in a few weeks.  For a stress fracture to heal, it must be placed in a hard soled shoe to unload it from the movement of walking.  Also, activities such as running must be stopped.  It can then begin to heal.  Calcitonin nasal spray, a naturally occurring hormone, usually helps heal the bone faster and decreases bone pain.  Ask your orthopedist about it.

dear doctor, i have a fracture of the tip of laetral malleolus.  its been 5 days that i was on back slab bandage n bruise at top feet. what to do?

Hard to say: I am not sure i fully understand your question and you may want to be seen.  An isolated fracture at the tip of the fibula can be treated non operatively and sometimes the swelling can track down to the top of the foot.  It is also possible you have also injured your foot itself.  Consider being evaluated.  Thank you for the question.
