Hard to say: I am not sure i fully understand your question and you may want to be seen. An isolated fracture at the tip of the fibula can be treated non operatively and sometimes the swelling can track down to the top of the foot. It is also possible you have also injured your foot itself. Consider being evaluated. Thank you for the question.

Fx lat ankle: See your orthopedic surgeon about this stable ones may heal easily other may not all fractures get some bruising.
