Yes: I have seen it in children. It is related to the usual reasons we see in adults. I would look for problems  with lack of exercise, poor sleep or psychologic issues.

Small chance: There appears to be a genetic predisposition to the condition-relatives of people with fibromyalgia are more likely to have it.  It seems to run in families.  In one study, if one twin had the condition, there was a 15% chance the other would have it as well.  To answer your question, the exact number is not known but there is a small chance you could pass the condition to your children.

Fibromyalgia : Fibromyalgia is not an easy disease to treat , and is not as if you take one and the other and the other and none work. It is a more complicated deal . Some times you have to work with your understanding physician to take the correct amount of medication and accompany that with the right amount of physical activity and the right amount of understabnding of the disease process. Therapy , cognitive or other may help . But is not easy .
Is not a matter of treating the pain , is a matter of treating the amplification of pain , wich is more complicated . Vycodin , marijuana, or otrer drugs don t change the amplification of pain . Amplification of pain is the mechanism that has to be blocked in order to have the proper responseand the adecuate therapy.

Difficult to Say Now: Some evidence supports higher risk of bipolar ; other mental illnesses in families but no clear connections on whether it is genetic. Fibromyalgia does have some genetic connection. With current studies ; the human genome project more information is gained daily. While we can&#x27;t say for certain now, it may not be long before we can.The good news is all these are much more controllable every day.
