Perforation: When slapped with a cupped hand, tympanic membrane perforation is common. See an ENT doctor.

i was cleaning ear with cotton swab about 48 hours ago. now ear feels swollen and like there is fluid in my ear. do i need to see a doctor or will it go away? pain is not severe but it is noticeable?

: Without an exam it is not reasonable to suggest the symptoms would resolve over time. Swabs can push wax up against the drum. Fluid does occasionally fill the middle ear space when the Eustachian tube malfunctions. When/if it bothers you enough have it evaluated. It might go away over time.

i got an ear infection went to the doctor they gave me antibotics the pain is mostly gone but i hear a ringing noise and it feels like there is fluid on my ear how long does this take to go away and is this normal with an ear infection

Ringing : Ringing can be a sign of residual fluid or a more serious nerve loss. You will need to have a follow up with an examination and a hearing test.

Fluid in ear: You MAY have fluid in your ear or you MAY have an infection.  Please visit your doc who will examine your ears.  He/she MAY clean them out.   Peace and good health.

Fluid in ear: Most commonly, fluid in the middle ear would cause hearing loss. That is what adult patients complain about the most with serous otitis media. The throb in the head symptom would not typically be associated. You should see and ENT for exam, hearing testing, and treatment recommendations.

is there anything else i should do about fluid in my ear?  i am already using a heat source over my ear when i am laying on the couch.

Ear effusion: Treat any nasal congestion from cold or allergy with medications. It'll take a month for middle ear effusion to clear. See ENT if blockage persists 
and procedure can be perform in office to remove effusion

it feels like something crawling in my ear and like there is fluid stuck in there but i have been seen by my dr several times for this and every time they say they don't see anything or there is fluid behind the eardrum and give me an antibiotic.

See ENT: Time to go to a specialist.  A simple Otitis Media will not have Balance problems.
At your age ear problems are unusual. May need to have acoustic neuroma ruled out or other causes for continuing earaches. Might have immune dysfunction.See an Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor, get it resolved for good.

i know i have swimmers ear. now it feels like i have fluid in my ear and its blocking it up. is this drainage? if so will it go away by itself?

See a Dr.: This may be serious.Please see a dr.Uncomplicated swimmers ear may be treated with isopropyl alcohol or hydrogen peroxide but i suspect your problem includes a cerumen (ear wax) blockage.

i have fluid in my ear that's causing me vertigo, how do i release or relieve this. the vertigo is making me feel ill?

Accepted Answer

Try OTC: antihistamines; Zyrtec, Benadryl or Claritin for at least one week. If not relieved I suggest trying motion sickness tablets like meclizine/Dramamine for 1 week. After that, if not relieved you may require oral steroids and a medical exam.
