Without an exam it is not reasonable to suggest the symptoms would resolve over time. Swabs can push wax up against the drum. Fluid does occasionally fill the middle ear space when the Eustachian tube malfunctions. When/if it bothers you enough have it evaluated. It might go away over time.

Agree with Dr. Ferguson. It is not a good idea to put cotton swabs in your ear, this being a common practice, notwithstanding. A general is to not put anything in your that is smaller than your elbow.
