It depends: It depends on why it is numb.  From the infection or possibly damage to a nerve.  You need to discuss this with the dentist that took out the tooth to get a good answer.  Injured nerves recover very slowly in some cases but you need to have a qualified person do a detailed examination to determine what the problem is.

Yes: Not ideal approach.  For a skin abscess, especially on the face to heal, one needs the CD8 immunocytes circulating in the blood stream to identify the bacteria involved, recognize the threshold level of immunogen In the bacterial cell and attack and destroy the bacteria- the healing process. As such one needs warmth which increases the blood supply to the lesion and thus promotes healing.

Allergic response: This sounds like a localised allergic response to the bug bite. It is unusual for infection to develop this early. This could likely be small blisters rather than actual abscesses. In any case if its causing you pain, you need to get this examined by a doctor. If there is infection, you may need antibiotics otherwise try some antihistamines which may reduce the reaction around the bite.

See doctor: This may be MRSA infection , or other etiology to consider. Various other immunological and infectious disease including std to be rule out , best advise to see your physician or infectious disease physician

Incise and drain: You need to see your doctor who will incise and drain this abscess  and then commence antibiotics. Please do not perform this at home as you can end up causing further infection and cellulitis

i had a blemish on my face popped thought it was gone. came back, worst pain ever. abscess formed. cultured turned out to be mrsa. how did this happen?

MRSA: Many normal people are colcnized nasally with MRSA and it was either primarily responsible for the initial blemish, or by popping it (don't do that again) you opened the way for secondary infection with this bug. Get it treated, try to get rid of the carrier state and stay healthy. Happy new year and good luck.
