Could be infection.: Could be inflamed or infected.  If the whole eyelid is red, that could be something called blepharitis, and if the eye is likewise red, blepharoconjunctivitis.  Regardless, eye drops may help.

Eye irritation: I am sorry to hear about your eye pain, how long has this been going on? Many times the mucous membranes can make a clicking noise when the wet surfaces of the membrane and the eye are in contact and are rubbed apart. Initially, I would not be too worried about the 'pop' you heard unless your symptoms are not improving. You may try warm or cool eye compresses with a clean washcloth initially.

You may have: a stye or hordeolum.  A stye is a cyst-like thing that is fluid filled and completely benign.  Warm compresses on top of the eyelid usually will bring it down in 1-2 days, though if it gets infected, you will need antibiotic eyedrops or pills. Change tears: There are many brands of artificial tears and a good first step is to try an alternate  brand.  Allergy to artificial tears is extraordinarily rare.  You might also try an anti-allergic otc drop like ophcon-a  (available as house brand in most pharmacies).  Only if this fails do you need to consult with your ophthalmologist.  Steroids are a later use drop when others fail.

so my under eyelid is red and swollen, and it's a little itchy, i don't have insurance so i can't go see a doctor i think it's pink eye what can i do?

Hot compresses: Most of the time pink eye causes the eyeball to be red. If this only involves the eyelid, it is either a stye or a mild skin infection. It is more likely a stye if there is a sore spot on the lid. If so, use hot compresses at least 3 times per day. Keep reheating the washcloth so you get 5-10 minutes of heat every time.

Stye: These are the classic symptoms of a stye in evolution.  The best treatment is the application of very warm, not hot, wet washcloths laid over the closed lids for 4-5 minutes at a time and about 5 times per day.  Twice per day will not do it.  This usually takes about 3-4 days to get rid of the stye.

Eye problem: If your symptoms are as bad as you describe, please go to the nearest Emergency facility. You may be helped there or the doctors may quickly refer you to the Eye doctor.

See your eye doctor: Go see your ophthalmologist. If you can't get in, see an optometrist. Feeling a popping sensation in your eye is never a good thing, especially when it gets sore. Occasional painfree redness is ok (often due to broken blood vessel) but swollen &amp; sore eye needs to be evaluated. I assume your vision hasn't changed since you didn't comment. Still it's imperative that you get evaluated today.

Infection.: This is suggestive of a stye. This is an infection of the glands of the upper or lower lid. This may require an antibiotic and is important to see your doctor. Use some warm compresses three times a day until you can see the doctor. If you can not get an appt, go to the local urgent care.
