Change tears: There are many brands of artificial tears and a good first step is to try an alternate brand. Allergy to artificial tears is extraordinarily rare. You might also try an anti-allergic otc drop like ophcon-a (available as house brand in most pharmacies). Only if this fails do you need to consult with your ophthalmologist. Steroids are a later use drop when others fail.

Consult Doctor: If you have allergic reaction with swelling of eyelids and blurry eyes, you should consult your doctor or an opthalmologist asap so that it can be treated appropriately.
