Eye irritation: I am sorry to hear about your eye pain, how long has this been going on? Many times the mucous membranes can make a clicking noise when the wet surfaces of the membrane and the eye are in contact and are rubbed apart. Initially, I would not be too worried about the 'pop' you heard unless your symptoms are not improving. You may try warm or cool eye compresses with a clean washcloth initially.
