have pinkeye for week now. bit red, itchy, greeny goop, eye lid swelling. using antibiotic drops. my cheek is now red same side as pink eye. related?

Yes: If you have conjunctivitis that is sensitive to the antibiotic you are taking, the inflammation should be gone by 1 week. If it is not, stop the antibiotic and see your doctor. If the inflammation got better and is now getting worse, you are reacting to the medication. Take a close up photo of your eye and stop the medication. See your ophthalmologist ASAP.

Back to the doctor: It may be time to see a dermatologist.  This needs to be examined again at least by your pediatrician who saw it initially.

Could be allergy: If you do not  have recent cut or injury to your eye lid then it ma be an allergic reaction.  You may have touched an allergenic material then touch your eye.  Depends on your history and progression then you will seek medical attention.  If its not, red, hot or painful, then you may want to take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) before the bed time.

Inspissation/stye: You are probably describing little backed up oil gland secretory glands of meibom, and the more red and swollen one is likely a stye. Try warm compresses 2-4 times daily followed by massage with baby shampoo on a clean washcloth. This shod help to relieve the pressure in the stye and also improve the oil gland secretions. You may have to this for a week or so. If no improvement, seek help idoc.

Allergies?: Swollen eyelids can be due to allergies.  Have you changed soaps, lotions, room sprays or candles, detergents or fabric softeners? Is the swelling in both eyes or just one?  Try an antihistamine, like diphenhyrdramine or Naphcon-A allergy eye drops, to see if the swelling goes away.  If so, stop the new product.  If not, it might be infection and you need to get seen soon.

See a doctor: it may be an allergic reaction to the bite.if it is infact a cellulitis and especially around the eye you need to see a doctor who will prescribe an appropriate antibiotic.

C an opthalmologist: not an optometrist, start with your primary doctor, it can be conjunctivitis or something else that warrants immediate attention and prescription medications, Urgent Care or ER are your options if you can't reach your doctor or an ophthalmologist today, good luck
