i had an empty sac at 5 weeks but my hcg was somewhere between 29000 to 50000. however my progesterone is only 8.7, is this a blighted ovum?

Yes: With blighted ovum the HCG levels are high but the Progesterone levels are lowere than normal and there is no development of the fetal pole/no fetal heart activity.

my hcg level went from 386 wk 4 to 5356 in wk 5. what are the chances of a blighted ovum?  will ur hcg levels rise tht much in 1 wk if u hv an empty ?

Possible: It is possible to have a blighted ovum with normal to high levels of hcg.  Best way to diagnose blighted ovum vs. Viable pregnancy in early pregnancy is with transvaginal ultrasound.  Fetal heart activity can usually be identified on transvaginal ultrasound by 6-6.5 weeks estimated gestational age.

had tvs earlier due to 8 days bleeding and saw empty gestational sac. im 7w6d but gs age is only 6w5d. sonographer said to repeat tvs after 1 week to rule in or out blighted ovum. what does that mean?

What will be will be: Let nature do what it does, and not worry until after next week's scan. That is because only a portion of conceptions become successful pregnancies. Nature weeds out genetic mutations and other abnormal embryos, in trying to preserve the human species. It has worked fairly well thus far, bringing us here from even before our caveman days. Be hopeful, but don't worry. Blighted is failed conception.

Pregnancy test: Have you done a pregnancy test? If not then do one. If so it is positive than your doctor needs to do a blood test to find out your hormone levels.

Empty gestation sac : Beyond 6 weeks of pregnancy, pelvic ultrasound should reveal at least a fetal pole if not fetal heart activity.  The chances of a normal developing fetus is diminished, given the information provided.

Two weeks: After you have been screened thoroughly, you would be taking medications for 10-12 days and then have your eggs retrieved 2 days after receiving HCG injection. You will return for follow up visits but you would not take medications.

Presume yes: Having one blighted ovum doesn't lead to any predictions about future pregnancies, because plenty of women have one blighted ovum during their lives. However, if a woman has 2 or 3 blighted ova, her doctor may look for a genetic cause or other reason for the repeating problem.
