Yes: Unfortunately, if all is as you say, you are correct. With a bHCG of 11,000 and no fetal pole, it is suspicious for a blighted ovum. However, it is necessary to repeat the bHCG in 48 hours. Don't be surprised if it doubles and your f/u ultrasound shows a viable IUP. I have seen this happen! Sonographic results are usually as good as the person scanning. Your best bet is the blood test.
