It depends...: How long you wait to exercise depends on the size of your meal and what kind of exercise you want to do. If you have your big meal of the day at lunch time, and a small evening meal, then choose to go for an easy 2-mile walk, 30 minutes is likely to be long enough to wait. If your evening meal is your largest of the day, an hour is a better wait.

Otherwise, you run the risk of bone loss due to the plaque and tartar which may lead to tooth loss.

Unlikely: The sugar is metabolized &amp; absorbed within 3-4 hrs. It is then either used by the body or sent to the liver as stored material. The sugar is thus not the issue. It is possible that the kid ate other fatty or tainted foods that might trigger such a response within that time frame.

Too large a meal too late can, and on and on. Troubling emotional associations from the past about bedtime too. Maybe a therapist can help you untangle it so you can sleep well.

Most often: For children consistency ( routine) is security and maintains a pattern that they can understand. For everyone sleep is probably the most important thing which we don't get enough of so consistent sleep times help.
