Not before bed.: While running is an excellent form of cardiovascular exercise, running before bed will activate your body at a time when you would prefer to wind down and go to sleep. In general, regular exercise has been shown to improve sleep habits. I generally recommend people run first thing in the morning, gaining energy from fat stores more than ingested carbohydrates.
