Below: Try a healthy version of Atkins diet ith low saturated and low hydrogenated fats.Too much rice,potatoes,milk,sugary drinks,corn products,bread,etc can add weight.Also do moderate exercise

Yes, but...: If you're trying to lose weight, try to keep the fruits to a minimum at night. Especially high sugar (high glycemic) fruits like bananas, apples, oranges, pineapples, etc. I generally recommend a cup of low sugar fruits like berries or melons at night or 1-2 cups of green veggies at night.. Fructose in fruits is a major cause of weight gain and diabetes.

Accepted Answer

Imbalanced: You will lack essential nutrients.  There is nothing wrong with a heavily plant based diet, but you need to have a good idea of where to get all of your nutrients, I suggest reading a book on plant based diets.  You will most likely also have diarrhea multiple times a day if this is all you consume.

Diet: You need protein and fats in your diet. Tofu and yogurt are excellent sources of protein if you are vegetarian or vegan. Avocados, ie guacamole is a great source of fats. It also would be a good idea to do a multi-vitamin. Extra Vitamin D would also help. Good luck

Check thyroid: The common identifiable cause of cold intolerance is hypothyroidism, which your physician will probably screen for if you mention it to him/her.  Many people develop cold intolerance without any identifiable cause, and a few people develop visible skin changes due to cold allergy or proteins and precipitate in the cold.

Maybe: Sounds like you are doing everything right. However, maybe your Thyroid gland is producing less hormones.  The gland if underactive can cause constipation on a regular basis. Next doctor visit request for a Thyroid blood test. It checks on your metabolism. Don't know until you have it checked.

May be normal: Moving your bowels 5-6 times a day is more than average but not necessarily an sign of illness. If you are feeling healthy and this has been a normal frequency for you and not a recent change, and if you are not having loose, watery stools, abdominal cramping or bloody stools then your likely ok. (Some people with IBS have frequent movements when under stress.)

Treat the cause: Why is your spleen big in the first place? If you have infectious mono or some other viral infection, it will go down on its own. If you have rheumatoid arthritis, a liver problem with portal hypertension, a storage disease or a hemoglobinopathy, you won't affect the underlying illness by trying to make your spleen smaller. Find what's happening ; stop looking for magic foods.
