Dvt: Localized pain behind the knee is not very common as a symptom of deep vein thrombosis.  However doing a venous duplex ultrasound (Doppler-sonography) would identify and clarify this issue.  Other issues could be localized knee problems, such as a Baker's cyst.  If there is a recent history of airplane travel, then ultrasound would be recommended as there is risk of air travel related thrombosis

I agree.: Concerning for DVT although there are many other things that can cause this - such as baker's cyst.  Bakers cyst is usually a bulge on medial side of knee especially noticeable with full extension of knee.

Leg pain: Look for other reasons for the leg pain.  A possible cyst, like a baker's cyst is more likely.  Talk to your doctor about your anxiety.

Musculoskeletal : More likely a muscles strain. See your doctor if it swells up, become red, warm or doesn't improve.

Possibly: Unfortunately, even the physical exam looking for  a DVT is only about 50 percent accurate.  So if you do have posterior knee pain and particularly swelling in the leg, you may need to be seen for an ultrasound.  You could very well not have a DVT, but having one is potentially life threatening.

i had major abdominal surgery 11 days ago. a few days now, pain behind knee and on calf. the pain is either very sharp, or burning. had uss, no dvt.

R/O BAKER'S CYST: Your SX are suggestive of a bakers cyst that may be leaking or potentially ruptured. You need to be examined and have an US or potentially MRI performed On the affected knee and calf. Seek prompt medical attention. Also ortho consult for steroid injection vs arthroscopic removal

Doubt it: You had necessary tests to rule out DVT. Fluttering of leg could be due to electrolyte imbalance . So , to check your blood chemistry including electrolyte will help.

Unlikely: The physical activity may have caused some bursitis and rest should relieve the symptoms. You may take acetaminophen for pain.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

sharp shin/ankle/knee pain, twinging, & clicking -still. d-dimer saturday, negative -pain worse now. doctor dismissed me. go to another? dvt possible?

DVT: A DVT could be possible but not likely given the negative d-dimer.  Many things can cause pain.  I would recommend evaluation by your primary care physician or an orthopedic surgeon.

Popliteal pain: You did mention many of the significant possibilities . May also be due to meniscus tear, tendinosis. Since there is concern for DVT, and especially if you are on birth control pills would get ultrasound- that can evaluate for DVT and Baker's cyst, effusion( fluid)  For meniscus tear,  tendinosis  need MRI.   Follow up with  MD
