my sgot is 46 (up to 36), sgpt is 58 (up to 45), gamma gt 55 (up to 43). it has always been slightly elevated. it could be due to the green tea extract and burdock tea that i drink. is it a concern?

Yes: Yes, it could be related to tea.
Regardless of that it is convenient to rule out all the other causes that may be causing that elevation in the enzymes. I recommend to visit a medical internist.
If all the other causes are ruled out you can stop taking the tea and have the enzymes checked after 2 weeks.

Wrong approach: First, there's no reason to think that green tea is "good for your liver", any more than the LiverAid vitamin mix you are taking will address serious disease. If your SGOT/SGPT are high off alcohol and medications, you need to be worked up for hepatitis B &amp; C, hemochromatosis, WIlson's, autoimmunity &amp; a few others. If these are clear, the only "natural remedy" that's likely to help is exercise.

Fatty liver or else?: There are 2 kinds of liver enzyme abnormalities--that signal disease of the liver cells or of the bile ducts.  Abnormal liver tests may reflect fatty liver, too much alcohol, toxic exposure, occupational exposures, lot's of viral infections, metabolic problems, familial liver diseases, as well as problems with gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas.  Start with blood tests to identify possiblities.

i tested and i have an elevated sgot is 49 and sgpt of 87. i don't drink much... but mom died of cirhosis.would that be the cause i have this high ?

Stop Alcohol: Alcohol is the commonest cause of elevated liver enzymes and you should stop drinking. Women are more susceptible to alcohol than men. You did not state your age, but in case you intend to get pregnant, abstain from alcohol entirely. Stop drinking entirely and recheck you liver function tests in about 6 months.

Not too high: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your ALT levels is not too high. If you are overweight that may explain it. If you are overweight, try to lose weight. A single reading of 75 is not reason to worry. You may repeat it in a year or so.

Need a workup: Most often nowadays, if you're taking no medications or alcohol, the first entity to consider is non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, which is largely genetic and for which physical fitness is a key to management. You may need to be checked for hepatitis B and C, Wilson's, hemochromatosis, and autoimmune hepatitis. Supplements may not be what's on the label. Good luck with the workup.

i am 24old and i am having alt(sgpt) level at 90%(max is 40%).i used to drink but occusionaly.now i am doing excersise, it will help to reduce to 40%?

Find cause: You're a young man and your elevated alt/sgpt (not a %, a real number) indicates something wrong that needs to be addressed. You need hepatitis b and c ruled out, along with hemochromatosis, wilson's, autoimmune hepatitis, antytrypsin deficiency and medication effect. Fitness is a great idea especially if ultrasound shows fat in your liver.

Could be from meds: Serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT) or aspartate aminotransferase, AST and serum glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (SGPT) or alanine aminotransferase (ALT) are biomarkers of liver injury. Accutane, used to treat acne, is associated with elevations in AST and ALT in about 10% of users - but rarely leads to liver damage.  See your dermatologist and repeat the tests. Dosage adjustment may help.

my sgpt level is 35 and my c reactive protein is 10.7. i do not drink what does this mean?

Maybe nothing: This SGPT level, depending on the lab and your age, may not even be above the reference range. C-reactive protein often means nothing at all that anyone can figure out. How do you FEEL? Was you SGOT / AST up? Reference ranges are set, as you know, so that a few percent of healthies fall outside on either end. There may not be any reason to be concerned. What did your physician say?

Find the cause: This is a warning, not a number to treat. You may have hepatitis b or c, hemochromatosis, autoimmune hepatitis, allergy to a medication, wilson's, or your body may just be asking for more exercise
