Accepted Answer

Paroxysmal AF: You probably still has paroxysmal  or intermittent af and requires further monitoring  by holter monitor or event recorder. Notify your doctor as you may need treatment  to prevent  recurrent attacks and other treatment such as anti coagulant.

Accepted Answer

Several: Ekg can often show a heart attack, and takes about 30 seconds to hook up and perform. If that does not have answer, blood tests will look for enzymes released by heart when being injured (like in heart attack), and takes about 45 minutes to get, unless have bedside testing (then about 3 minutes). Often admitted to hospital if cannot be sure (always admitted if having heart attack!).

That means taking the right dose of water pill and also other medications that are proven to improve quality.  Make sure you check your weight weekly and if you are still gaining weight make sure you talk to your provider. Avoid extra salt in your diet, canned food and frozen food as they all contain a lot of salt.

Healthy lifestyle: I don't know the patient's age , this patient already has atherosclerosis with anatomic changes noticed on the cardiomegaly,   Patient need to have a cardiac diet , control blood pressure if HTN , control bs if diabetic , and have a statin to lower levels of lipids , cause of atherosclerosis , in some studies , even show reversal of atherosclerosis  and also exercise oriented by your primary md.

Yes: It can be done under sedation in cooperative patient. Not sure is it the best option. Anesthesiologist and surgeon have to make decision.

Likely : A little alcohol (e.g. Half a glass of wine or less) may be safe in a post-cardiac bypass patient and even suggested as beneficial by some studies in coronary artery disease. Medication interaction with alcohol intake  is another concern which your doctor can further discuss with you.

Swollen knee: A painless swollen knee in the absence of trauma is suggestive of inflammation, likely related to arthritis and overuse with other causes possible as well, including infectious. Crystal induced arthropaties are also relatively common, such as gout or pseudogout. Best would be to start with your GP as a knee tap will be needed in order to formulate a definitive diagnosis and your GP can coordinate.

my father is a heart patient, he had 4 bypasses done last year on september. since last week he has had dry cough which bis irritable which is a worry?

Check his meds : After ruling out viral and bacterial causes of cough.... Consider Ace inhibitor associated cough. Most cardiac patients are on Lisinopril or OTHER ACE inhibitor meds. Commonly dry cough is a side effect. If he has been on an ace inhibitor discuss this with your doctor he will replace it with a ARB, alternative treatment.
