pain around achilles tendon with a little swelling in the area. also pain in knee and muscle spasms in the back of the calf. does this sound like dvt? my leg feels kinda tight and heavy or is this a muscle strain? also have foot pain around ankle

Leg- heavy &amp; tight: Have you had a history of injury to your leg or ankle? Have you been involved in strenuous activities lately where you used your legs, such as walking, running or biking that was more than usual? 
It is important to see your PCP or Podiatrist right away for a clinical exam. After the clinical evaluation, the doctor can determine if you need to have a Venous Duplex done to rule out a DVT.

what could be causing my foot pain and swelling on the top of my left foot? it hursts all day with no relief, and i did not enjure the foot.

Stress fracture: There are lots of reasons for insidious foot pain (pain for no apparent reason). Most common is a stress fracture. Most people do not remember any injury. Other reasons can be tendinitis, gout, neuritis or an infection. I would rest, ice and see my favorite podiatrist for an x-ray.

Hard to say: There are many causes of pain in the foot without any apparent trauma.  Without knowing more about your boy's health history and getting a look at his tootsie, i'd be misleading you with any specific answers.

It's always safest and best to bring it in to a podiatrist, perhaps get an x-ray, and know for certain.  Hope your boy feels better and good luck!

Foot pain: Random pain and redness in the feet is often from a shoe problem and related to exercise, work and posture.  If shoes are good fit and problem recurs then seed a medical exam to rule out a problem.

Purely based: On exact location of pain and clinical exam the doctor should have a differential diagnosis. Xrays only show bone and are only going to help if there is bony injury.
If you simply mark your foot with an "x" take a pic and post it a differential diagnosis could be given...Was your doctor a specialist?

Then see a doctor.: Numbness an bea local issue like a neuroma or a tarsal tunnel. Diseases like diabetes can cause numbness. Herniated discs in the back can cause numb toes, vitamin deficiencies can cause numb toes. Small shoes can cause numb toes....

Plantar Fascitis?: You should consult a Podiatrist or your Primary care doctor as y iou may have Plantar Fasctis and if it is so,will need to be treated appropriately

Specialist: Seeing a podiatrist or a foot & ankle orthopedic specialist would be a good choice. They both have unique knowledge of the foot and ankle.  Either way, xrays, bloodwork and a good examination should help you in getting a diagnosis and treatment to help!
