i am facing with the problem of increased triglycerides to the level of 228 mg/dl and decreased level of hdl to the level of 31 mg/dl. please suggest.?

Lipids: High triglycerides are related not only to the fat in your diet but also the simple sugars, so need to reduce both of these.  Hdl is more difficult to increase, it is not due to diet, but can be improved with aerobic exercise.  In women a low HDL is a significant risk factor for cardiac disease, so try to improve that.

Pancreatitis lipids: When the triglycerides get very high, it can cause pancreatitis.  Poorly controlled diabetes raises triglycerides, as does a high fat diet.  You need to work with your doctor to maintain a normal weight, control your blood glu with whatever it takes, keep triglycerides low with a low fat diet and medications.

Exercise: Whether elevated fasting triglycerides are by themselves a risk factor, or simply your body's way of asking for more exercise, is still debated. Study (2013) showed:: Paroxetine: significant increase in weight, BMI, waist circumference, fasting glucose, cholesterol, LDL, and triglyceride after 16 wks of treatment. Citalopram and escitalopram (Lexapro): significant increases in triglyceride. Sertraline: total cholesterol increased after treatment. Fluoxetine: significant reductions in weight, total cholesterol, and triglyceride.  Best regards for good health.

Yes: Elevated nonfasting triglycerides mean nothing. A nice cheese meal before your blood test will increase triglycerides. If i had elevated fasting triglycerides, i'd up my aerobic fitness program and stop worrying. As a pathologist / lab specialist, i've never had much use for 'treating lab values.' enjoy your cheese.

Genes and diet: Many people inherit a predisposition to have high triglycerides if they become overweight. Sometimes triglycerides can be high in the absence of overweight but that's rare. Good news is that they are very sensitive to weight loss through diet and exercise. Low carb diets work best. Alcohol, Estrogens (contraceptive pill) and Accutane can increase triglycerides too. Diet and exercise: Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco in any form and do take any more than one drink on a given day.

HDL of 42 is not bad: Hdl of 42 is not bad, particularly in the con-
text of your entire lipid profile.
Increasing HDL is not easy, but discontinua
tion of cigarette smoking, weight reduction, 
and vigorous exercise can be of help.

i could really use an ssri foranxiety/depression,but triglycerides are high and i've read many of these raise it more.any ssris that don't raise this?

Having increased: triglycerides does not necessarily mean that you can't use a SSRI's. It does mean that baseline lipids should be done and then repeated  - to see effect of the SSRI.
