i have regular periods/ovulation. have gotten pregnant. blood test came back normal but elevated testosterone. no cysts on ovaries. is this pcos?

Not necessarily: Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a condition in women characterized by irregular or no menstrual periods, acne, obesity, and excess hair growth and affects 5-10% of women of reproductive age. While higher than normal levels of testosterone is a common feature of PCOS, it is not the only cause. If your levels are of concern, discuss with your doctor.

Probably: All women with working ovaries have natural cysts in their reproductive lifetime. Cyst is a general term meaning a fluid-filled sac anywhere in a body. A challenge can be sorting out which ovarian cysts are normal and which not. Some can be a fertility issue but the majority aren't. Your doctor can help you sort this out better.

PCOS DX: It takes more than a "necklace sign" 10--20 small cysts on the outer edge of the ovary to make the diagnosis of PCOS. You also need irregular menstrual cycles and/or elevated male hormone levels to make this diagnosis and to rule out other conditions.

i was diagnosed with pcos but have no cysts on my ovaries. it that possible or was it a wrong diagnosis?

Quite possible: Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a poor name for this disorder. The name comes from the fact that there are multiple immature follicles, tiny cysts that contain eggs on the ovaries. However the symptoms of the syndrome are problems with ovulation and excess male hormone. The presence of an ovarian cyst or even multiple cysts has nothing to do with pcos.

got pcos, 20+cysts on each ovary all at least 5cm in size. lots of pain in abdo and back. what size of the cysts is required for surgery? how urgent?

Surgical indications: Indications vary.If the medical management of PCOS is not successful, then and only then indications for ovarian surgery will usually be considered based  on your symptoms (severity of pelvic-abdominal pains, suspected torsion or hemorrhage...) , reliability of sonographic evaluation (suspicion of ovarian neoplasm...) "Size of the cysts"alone may not be a reliable or clear criteria for surgery.

i have endometriosis &pcos im always getting a cyst in my right ovary. can getting it removed help with the pain or will it happen in left one too. it always my right ovary where the cyst goes.

I sympathize: with your frustration! Unfortunately disorders do not "choose" a certain "side" for their "target" organs.  My opinion only...do not RUSH into what seems to be a "quick fix"......ask your GYN for  a possible referral to an ENDOCRINOLOGIST !

Yes: 50% of women with pcos have ovarian cysts and the other half don't.  Most will have irregular cycles lasting greater than 38 days or they don't menstruate on a regular basis at all.

i have small cyst on both ovaries, do i have pcos? will it be hard for me to conceive with the cyst on my ovaries?

To diagnose PCOS: To diagnose pcos you need irregular (skipped or absent) periods. You also need elevated androgens in blood and/or a polycystic 'look' to ovaries on ultrasound: sounds like you might (or might not ) have this. But US doesn't diagnose PCOS by itself. Best wishes.

i have pcos and i'm done having kids, i have numerous cysts and  a lot of pain. is surgery an option to remove ovaries?

It is an option..: Surgery is an option, but not without risks. Thus, you should speak with your doc about your trouble and learn about the potential benefit vs risks of having the ovaries removed. Since you are 35, you will likely need hormone replacement for quite a few yrs etc..Will surgery fix your problem? Maybe maybe not. Thus, consult doc and find best options for you. Good luck.

1 year back my sonography reports showed i had pcos.i've been on meds since then but my new reports show i have a follicular cyst on one ovary.help!

Maybe normal: Pco on ultrasound means that there are lots of immature eggs. Follicular cysts are cysts that arise from follicles and are totally normal in women with or without pcos. Depending on the appearance, size, etc., your doctor may follow up to see it resolve or may chose not to.
