could doctors and pharmacies mess up your prescriptions?

Uncommon: Docs occasionally write the wrong dose or write with bad handwriting so that the item is misread.  Pharmacists can pick the wrong item off the shelf or mislabel the drugs.  These are becoming less frequent in this age of electronic e - prescribing.  All in all mistakes in this arena are very uncommon.

i talked to one of your doctors yesterday. he said he was going to send in a prescription my pharmacy has not received anything yet. how long does that normally take?

i would just like to know if the pharmacy actually phones your doctor when you get a prescription filled?

Sometimes Yes: If the pharmacist has any questions or concerns of whatever nature, it is very common, and generally required by law, that the pharmacist calls the prescribing doctor.  This is to assist in you getting the correct medication, and complying with appropriate state & federal regulations.

Generally Yes: This is common to have an online pharmacy be able to fill your prescription.  However remember that federal & state regulations may interfere with this process based on such things like the specific medication that your prescription is written for.

a doctor wrote me a prescription and never got it this was a year ago can i go to the pharmacy to use it or no?

Depends: All states and the federal government have rules about how long prescriptions are good.  It also depends on what the drug is.  Usually a year for non-controlled substances. (but Ohio does not say how long) If you are in Gehofen, Germany probably has its own rules.  Controlled substances are much pickier, and it depends on the drug and that state and the Federal guidelines.

is it legal for a doctor to directly sell a medication to you (instead of sending you to a pharmacy with the prescription)?

Yes but ethical?: It is legal but there are ethical issues.  Doctors often do it to make more money.  It can be more convenient (avoid a trip to the pharmacy), but it can encourage overprescribing too.  If your doc is doing a lot of it, and if it involves a lot of expensive medications, while avoiding the generics, it may suggest a problem.

i already paid for my consult and the doctor did not put in my prescription at my pharmacy. how do i get this issue fixed without being charged again?

Call them: Sometimes people forget.Also sometimes with electronic prescriptions it goes to the wrong pharmacy or a glitch in the system where it is ordered but not transmitted.Therefore if the doctor was to send in prescriptions call them and they can resend it.j

: Have pharmacy contact Physician.  Also, you might want to contact the Physician, as well.
