Herbs for sleep: In general yes.  What they say about thanksgiving turkey is true.  It is not a recommended otc herb because it can also be very harmful in high doses and years ago a tainted batch caused numerous cases of Parkinson's disease.  Hope this helps.

Melatonin: The main hormone associated with sleep is melatonin. Melatonin production decreases with age and with night shift work.  Melatonin supplements can help improve sleep difficulties.

Progesterone is also beneficial for sleep in that it increases GABA receptors in the brain that help you stay calm and improve sleep.

i'm coming off a meth bender and haven't slept in a few days, will nyquil help me sleep even though it expired 3 months or so ago? 
i have nothing else sleep inducing. thanks.

Dont use any other: substances, including street drugs, OTC meds, or alcohol after a meth bender (unless a medication is specifically prescribed to you by an MD who is aware of your meth use, and still advises taking the med). I know you're probably feeling awful right now, but adding even OTC medications to the mix only increases medical risk, &amp; wont make you feel better ;(Think about treatment for substance use.

No clear answer: Sometimes a quick snack can help you sleep better because you are not hungry. The key thing for people who work odd shifts is to make sure you get enough sleep sometime in the 24 hour period, and make sure you eat healthy when you can.  Suwerte!

are there any alternative sleep agents to melatonin? i've decided to quit melatonin 5mg after 3 years because it's contributing to my depression. without it i struggle to sleep for more than an hour before falling asleep. 31 yo m?

: Yes, OTC Benadryl has been used and Dramamine can induce drowsiness.  But far better is to stop sleep meds, which become futile over time and engage in a full Sleep Hygiene Program.  We can help (www.connect @healthtap.com)

my gynocologist suggested dmae as a mild anti-anxiety agent to help with sleep. my research suggests otherwise. can someone clarify this for me?

DMAE: Dimethylaminoethanol is used for water treatment & in the coatings industry & as additive to paint removers & to protect vs. Erosion. It is also precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine & also it is processed by the liver into choline. It was shown to elevate the mood & increase alertness & somewhat improve adhd, although no conclusive studies so far.

See a dermatologist: Cantheradin is an old treatment for condyloma, not for molluscum. It causes blisters. If you really have molluscum, and if they persist, best to consult a better qualified DR. You can be helped.

Get more REM: Sound sleep is the best day.  Withdrawal and discontinuation of medications that suppress rem is helpful in a number of patients.
