i had urinalysis done tonight because of a kidney stone my one question i have is squamous epi cell normal in the urine i see the normal range is 0-3 and mine was 5-10 what could that mean?

Nothing: I would set nothing by this. It's hard to give a midstream clean-catch urine every time.

if i had hematuria due to kidney stone symptoms, how long after i feel a bit better should i recheck my urine to see if hematuria is gone? thank you.

Wait a week: That would give the abrasions time to heal up, unless your urologist has other advice.

have had kidney stone in the past the last time my family doctor tested me .she said i had a trace of them but i should be able to pass them .but i don't think i able to to pass this one you can watch my stream of urine and see they are one trying to com

Water: Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless. This will help in passing the stone and prevent formation of new ones.

what can i use to help kidney stone to pass? pain mostly in groin and urine dipstick bloodtrace...all else fine. history of kidney stones. have been hidrating and using buscopan. cant see doc now as my husband is covid positive and i am quarantined.

Size and water: If the stone is larger than 5 mm in size, it is unlikely to pass on its own. For stone(s) smaller than that, you can facilitate the process by drinking enough water every day so that your urine is mostly colorless.

You need to: see a doctor, because your symptoms could be something else even more serious.  Kidney stones, depending on location, cause severe pain in flank or groin, usually not in hip or buttocks.  It also typically causes microhematuria, not visible to the eye.

should i contact a different doctor for adrenal mass went to a urologist after a ct scan for kidney stones showed an adrenal mass.  urologist sent me for a mri and had me do a 24 hour urine test to see why i had kidney stones.  i am more worried about the

It : It depends on the size and characteristics of the adrenal mass and any symptoms you may have from the mass.  Larger adrenal tumors should be evaluated and often removed.  Smaller masses that have characteristics of a benign (non-cancerous) adenoma on ct scan are often observed, but may be removed if they produce abnormal amounts of hormones.  Functional adrenal adenomas can cause high blood pressure, which can be reversible if the adrenal mass is removed.  If you are concerned, you should get a second opinion.

Just infection: No, a kidney stone can only be seen with imaging studies such as an xray or CT-scan.

Accepted Answer

No: Not all kidney stones pass in the urine.  Some kidney stones can dissolve or breakdown in the bladder before passing in the urine.  Others can remain present but never pass.  See your urologist if you are concerned.

is it possible to have clear urine while having kidney stones?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Depends where the kidney stone is. If it is in the renal pelvis or bladder and not sufficiently irritating the lining of the kidney, ureter (kidney to bladder), urethra (bladder to outside), there may be no visible blood. Often, a simple urine dip test done in your physicians office will be able to detect microscopic blood in your urine. Are you having flank pain or painful urination? See your doc.
