: It is possible to have mononucleosis without having a sore throat. This can be tested for in bloodwork so perhaps your doctor can test you for mono to rule it in or out. There is no specific treatment for mono-just supportive care like rest and treating any symptoms. If you have an enlarged spleen, you would limit any contact sports until the enlarged spleen decreases in size. So, see your doctor.

Ibuprofen: Taking regularly scheduled Ibuprofen (works better than tylenol (acetaminophen) to decrease swelling) can help. If your throat is really sore to the point of not wanting to eat or drink anything, sometimes doctors can prescribe Prednisone (a steroid) to help with the swelling. Only begin this in consultation with your doctor. Some people find relief with something like lemon-honey tea or the like.

Mononucleosis? : Not enough information. What were your  symptoms &amp; how long you were sick ?did you have a strep test  for your sore throat? Negative mono spot test &amp; equivocal  IgM result, most likely you don't have infectious mononucleosis, there is .  a complete EB virus panel &amp; CBC that has high atypical lymphocytes plus clinical picture suggestive of mononucleosis  help in making the diagnosis. REST: Mononucleosis is well known and is caused by infection with the epstein-barr virus. It is important to rest, as fatigue is the number one complain of sufferers. There are some pharmaceuticals that some md's use, but i thin rest is the best medicine. Are you a college freshman by the way? A very high risk group for the virus. You will be fine.

Hard to say: You have a vague list of symptoms but nothing specific enough to apply a label. Flu would be expected to come out with fever as a dramatic symptom. Less so with mono. A more thorough review of timing &amp; some simple tests can differentiate the two, but other issues can cause some similar symptoms.

Possibly: Since you are running a fever and are in general not feeling well. I recommend that you go to your family doctor or to a walk-in clinic. You should have your diagnosis confirmed. Having a stiff neck can be part of mono but it could also be part of something more serious and i think that you should definitely be checked out by a medical professional this morning.

: Perhaps you have a viral uri, but if you wish to check for mononucleosis, reliable testing is available.  In this day and age, a COVID-19 screen should also be included, if you have not been vaccinated.
