REST: Mononucleosis is well known and is caused by infection with the epstein-barr virus. It is important to rest, as fatigue is the number one complain of sufferers. There are some pharmaceuticals that some md's use, but i thin rest is the best medicine. Are you a college freshman by the way? A very high risk group for the virus. You will be fine.

Let me explain: Could be from mono or secondary infection to mono. If it is from mono we could give Motrin or steroid to minimize the swelling and the pain, if it is secondary you should antibiotic for sore throat.
