Depends: Hiv and hepatitis are blood borne. If the place reuses or does not properly clean needles, you could get infected with hepatitis and/or hiv.

Highly doubtful: Transmission of HIV from contaminated tattoo gun is theoretically possible but certainly rare. In order for you to contract HIV, you would have to be given a HIV contaminated device within a short time after it was used on a HIV infected person.  Since you have been healthy for 8 yrs , the chance for HIV is extremely low. A definite answer would be testing for HIV however.

Nothing: Nothing will happen , only the tattoo will be gone, as long as the procedure is done under aseptic condition ( good hygienic condition).

HIV FROM TATTOO NEEDLE: YOU SHOULD BE AFRAID AND BE CAUTIOUS.
THERE ARE MANY CASES REPORTED WHERE INFECTED TATTOO NEEDLES HAD TRANSMITTED HIV INFECTION.
NO PERCENTAGE OR NUMBERS ARE AVAILABLE BUT IT CAN AND DOES HAPPEN.

In many States: there are requirements for Tattoo Parlors to use disposable needles.
In any case if you are concerned its unlikely that you have HIV (more likely Hepatitis B /C) and all of these disorders can be diagnosed with BLOOD TESTS which your Primary Care Provider can order!

No risk: There would be no risk unless the tattoo artist was also injection this customers blood into their blood or having unprotected sexual intercourse that included blood to semen or semen to blood exposure. Getting a tattoo is not in any way a risk to the tattoo artist from a customer who may be infected with HIV.

Probably safe: Tattoo parlors have more regulations than ever making tattoo placement safer than ever. Today its one use ink, on use needle thus the days of contamination a batch of ink and using it on the next 100 patrons is over. So if you went to a quality licensed parlor with good honest artists you are safe.

Flu like: After infection, sometimes one can get a flu like illness with fever, body aches , sore throat, cough, swollen lymph nodes all over, rash, headache...Like a flu, that can last for a week or so.
Get tested, even if you felt fine.Just getting a tattoo is a risk factor for hepatitis c.You need to be screened for that too.

Trust it: Proper sterilization of tattoo equipment is near-universal today. There is an HIV risk if the needle was recently used by another person. Just how much of a risk getting inked ever was for hepatitis C is unknown; other risky practices run with tattoo culture. Whatever exposure you may have had, the test is reliable at 32 days; human reporting error makes the false-negative rate unknowable.
