See your dentist: You can place anbesol on the sore area under the denture while you wear it. I would recommend seeing your dentist and asking for a prescription of magic mouthwash. It can be made at the pharmacy and contains a (1:1:1) ratio of viscous lidocaine, benadryl, (diphenhydramine) and maalox liquids. Also this is an indication that the denture may need an adjustment. See your dentist as soon as you can.

Possibly...: if implants are placed only in the lower arch, which is common, the vertical height can collapse. If placed in both upper &amp; lower that can't happen. As for taste, any removable appliance can alter taste, keeping dentures clean can minimize this issue. Speech can be effected, but usually only in the user's perception not by those who hear them.

Denture Adhesive: There is no known risk of hardening of the arteries with long term use of denture adhesive. Some adhesives do contain zinc which if ingested in large amounts can cause anemia.

16teeth pulled on 5/20. take dentures out for 1st time on 5/25. scared it will pull clots and cause dry socket.  possible?

Follow instructions: Just continue to follow the dentist's instructions as well and continue taking your prescribed and regular medications on schedule, unless directed differently by the Oral Surgeon or your dentist. Dry socket is a very rare complication after immediate denture surgery. As your mouth heals, the denture may become loose. Your dentist will help you with soft tissue conditioner as needed. Rinse it off well: You should rinse the denture thoroughly with water after you use denture cleaner, so there should be no taste whatsoever. Also use a denture brush and plain water to remove any debris that might harbor bad taste and odor. If your denture has had a soft reline, that material can absorb odors that could cause a taste. If this is the case, i would get a hard reline that won't absorb any odors.

More info needed...: How long have you had the dentures? Are they new? Have you always gagged when eating with this full denture? They may be ill fitting and moving without you realizing, but most likely they are overextended into your soft palate. Please have a local dentist take a look to evaluate the fit. No use gagging when you eat.
