i had ct scan of pelvis. dont understand why they didn't see anything?

Normal scan perhaps?: A ct scan is an x-ray study that is developed by a computer.  There will always be findings.  At the very least, they will see all the normal structures of the pelvis.  The comment that "they didn't see anything" sounds more like there were no abnormal findings.

: What kind of tumors are you concerned about? A pelvic CT could miss colon cancer if it was done without colon preparation. 
You may wish to restate your question as part of it, "or the there vessels?" does not make sense.

i'm having a ct scan done of my abdomen and pelvis done this week to see if a hernia has come back, why do i need to drink two bottles of contrast ?

2 See Ur Intestine: A ct of the abdomen can be very helpful for diagnosing recurrent hernias. An important part of the study is to look at the intestine relative to the hernia. Contrast in the intestine makes the interpretation of these films much easier.

can you see bone cancer in the hips from a ct scan of the abdomen and pelvis?

Yes, some details se: Ct scan shows the normal anatomy of all the structures examined although it is not the best test for hip cancer which is best seen with a ct scan or MRI scan of the pelvis with a focus on the bones.

ct scan of pelvis- l5/s1 degenerative disc disease with loss of disc height, vacuum phenomena, endplate sclerosis and anterior bridging osteophytes. i have tremendous back pain, time to see a back specialist?

: Start with your primary care provided. The radiology findings may or may not be related to your back pain. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you.
Regular aerobic exercise will help by improving strength and flexibility of your muscles. Any exercise for 30 minutes will do that makes you sweat.

57 f. acute uti 9 months ago. now consistent uti weekly.  ct scan clear. doesnt feel in bladder, but in urethra. all tests clear, no stones.  feels like permanent damage. urethra spincter feels like doesnt work and someone stabbing me in urethra. ??

Urologist: I trust that a urologist is involved in your care. Are these true UTI's documented by clean catch urine cultures,sensitivity and colony counts? If so, some structural abnormality in your urinary tract predisposes you to recurrent infections. Perhaps you experience recurrent urethritis. Often it follows intercourse and taking an antibiotic just before or after intercourse prevents the urethritis.

ct scan done a month ago. it showed a 3mm kidneystone my back stopped hurting 3 days later now i some urethra irritation at the opening it comes and goes ,as far as i know i haven't passed this stone could it be what's causing my tip sting and iriate?

: Could be but more likely STD. Get it checked out if exposed.

what is it like to have a ct scan on the stomach and pelvis area?

CT scan: You will arrive to radiology and have an IV placed. This will be used to inject a contrast material into your veins in order to better visualize your intra-abdominal organs.  You will also likely drink a contrast material to allow better visualization of your GI tract. The actual scan is very fast and you will have to hold your breath to prevent motion artifacts. Normal variant: In some people, some of the collecting system for the kidney, called the renal pelvis (like a funnel to catch the urine the kidney makes) extends a bit from the kidney.  This is called an "extra-renal pelvis".

can piles bleed after ct scan of abdomen & pelvis?

Accepted Answer

Yes but not because: The piles (hemorrhoids) can bleed anytime. The ct should not have caused it unless you had some sort of cleansing regimen that caused you to wipe the anal area frequently.
