CT scan: You will arrive to radiology and have an IV placed. This will be used to inject a contrast material into your veins in order to better visualize your intra-abdominal organs. You will also likely drink a contrast material to allow better visualization of your GI tract. The actual scan is very fast and you will have to hold your breath to prevent motion artifacts.
