i have unions but being 75 i hate to go for operstion-big toe is not straight due to i'm sure bunion-anythg u can suggest 2 correct this wout surgery?

Correct - not really: But you could accomodate by wearing shoes that do not put pressure on it.
You don't mention if you have pain and where which is key in helping....

: Bunion procedures are not so that one procedure fits all. Every foot is different. The skill of the surgeon is responsible for any complications.  There are exceptions. If the incorrect procedure  was chosen , failure is going to happen. This is what makes bunion surgery very difficult to be 100%, 100% of the time.  I would recommend going back to original surgeon and get a second opinion .

Depends on type: In most cases, the first metatarsal bone is cut and realigned, fixated with pins or screws. Enlarged portion of bone is cut or shaved down. Soft tissue suuch as tendons, ligaments and capsule may also be released or modified.

Bunion Surgery: Usually a day surgery (meaning you go home the same day), takes about 1-2 hours depending on the surgeon and choice of procedure.  
Usually involves shaving off the bump, making a cut in the bone, and holding it in place with a screw.  It takes about 6-8 weeks for it to heal.  My patients are usually walking immediately in a special shoe that only lets you bear weight on the heel.

Bunion surgery.: There are no braces or exercises to get rid of a bunion. If you have it surgically removed, there are several ways your surgeon could go about it. Depending on the angle of your bones (you'll need an x-ray), there are many different procedures to correct your foot. Some involve bone cuts and screws. You'll be swollen for several weeks, but the post-op pain does not last that long.

Depends.: Depending on your procedure, you may be able to bear weight after surgery, or you may be non-weight-bearing for several weeks after. Ask your surgeon how severe your bunion is, and how aggressive a procedure you need. More aggressive procedures require non-weight-bearing afterward on crutches.

Generally yes: Surgery for correcting bunions are commonly performed on an outpatient basis and can provide good results. Like any other surgery, complications such as infection, swelling, pain, recurrence of the deformity, limited motion , excessive scarring can sometimes arise.  Talk to your foot surgeon about this.  Provide a detailed medical history, and be compliant with all of the postoperative course.
