so i woke in the middle of the night with severe right arm pain with nausea it lasted about 25 minutes later on about 6 hours later then pain came back for about 2 hours now again currently it back could i possibly be having a heart attack?

: Please see your physician. These symptoms may indicate a cardiac condition, and the cause of the pain should be determined. Watch for dizziness,shortness of breath and avoid meals two hours or less primary prior to bedtime.

saw my neuro for burning right arm pain (believed to be sfn) & a left handed tremor and/or finger twitches. he wrote this note. what does it mean? "adventitious movements are acceptably controlled. the right arm is affected more than the left"

: It means movements that are unvoluntary or spontaneous are controlled in a manner that is acceptable. Any abnormal movement you are getting from the SFN, tremor or twitches are controlled to an acceptable level.

i have constant nerve pain in my left arm(my right arm pain comes and goes) i went to many doctors neuro,pt,ortho..10 doctors they say everything is normal..did neck mri/emg/nerve study but i'm still in pain.. is this really normal? i'm frustrated?

: If all those tests are normal, then it is unclear what type of pain you are having and what the etiology would be. Perhaps you need to see a pain specialist. There are different pain syndromes that have treatments available and a pain specialist would be the best doctor to evaluate, diagnose and treat a pain syndrome. Good luck!

my right arm turns cold, pale, and numb when raised and sometimes purple with overuse. i have raynauds but these symptoms only happen with that arm and it hurts badly if i dont rest it. could this be indicative of tos?

: You are correct. Those symptoms are not consistent with Raynaud disease so TOS needs to be ruled out. You should see a vascular or thoracic surgeon. Good luck.

21 years old- had heart tested and doctors said it was fine. i have left arm pain similar to nerve pain when i walk (such as heaviness in the arm), it's mild burning and aching on/off and it is sensitive to cold air. does this sound like nerve pain?

: It sounds like (not IS, but COULD BE) some form of thoracic outlet syndrome. This is not something that can be addressed on line. Depends...: Depending on which part of your arm hurts, what makes it better and worse, and other aspects of your exam, there are multiple possible causes ranging from muscle tightness to referred pain to a pinched nerve.  Start with your primary care doctor- they may refer you to a sports med doc or physiatrist for further diagnosis or treatment.

4 steps: 1) if it just started without trauma, rest it for a bit. Don't do any heavy lifting.
2) use some ice
3) take some ibuprofen
4) if not better in 10-14 days get it looked at. 

If the pain started after a fall or if you heard a pop, then you might want to see someone sooner.

Get it evaluated: It depends on the location of the pain. Is it shoulder, elbow, etc. There is no way to tell without an exam.
