Oils and fats: Oils and fats have higher calories.  Proteins and carbs (starches, sugars) have lower calories than oils and fats have.  More importantly is the amount of food one eats.  For example, eating 12 ounces of protein has more calories than eating 3 ounces of fats.  One must also consider the nutritional value of the foods (but that's another story).

Your veggies should be alot of dark greens, followed by cruciferous veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage) and then everything else; fruits are great; water is awesome.

Depends: Calorie shifting has many meanings but if you are asking about eating more during the day and less at night, its helpful but not as much as it is to eat what your resting metabolism rate is (and a little extra if exercising).  It is best to consume more midday and less at night but most people are just overeating all day long!  know your rate and then shift the calories.

When compared to vegetables in general, fruit contains more calories because of the fructose (fruit sugar) that they contain. As a general rule of thumb, consuming in moderation is important, but the vitamins, minerals and fiber found in fruit are extremely  beneficial to your health.
