Fat food: If you continue taking fat food you will quickly minimize your blood flow, particularly blood supply to your heart.
Stop eating so much saturated fat or pay the price. I am sure you don't want that.

Unknown: I don't think we really know the answer to this excellent question but my impression is that, if you're using all the calories you eat, the fat content is not harmful. I base this on lipid profile results of Dr. Adkins (of the Adkins' diet) who eat a low carb, high fat diet, lose weight, and have no demonstrable harm. Some fats (monounsaturated) in moderation, appear to actually be beneficial.

Not enough activity: The simple formula which determines if you gain or lose weight is Calories taken in minus Calories used. Taken on a day to day basis, you can know if you are using up the calories or not. If calories eaten far exceeds calories burned up by whatever activity, weight is gained. It does not matter if the calories are fats proteins or carbohydrates, body chemistry turns the excess into fat to store it

No: The 2000 calorie diet is a recommendation for a female of an ideal weight so is a saturated fat intake. For an ideal male it's around 2400. Your saturated fat intake is ok, but if you're concerned about it's effect on your body ask your doctor to run a cholesterol panel and it will tell you whether you need to modify your diet.

i started weightlifting. many people i've met recommend the paleo diet. if half of my calories came from saturated fat, what would it do to my body?

Unknown: It was widely believed that the low carb, high fat, atkins diet would cause a marked increase in LDL cholesterol and heart disease but it didn't. If you're normal weight and exercising regularly, it may not matter what you're eating but this has not been conclusively proven. As a cardiologist, I do not recommend 50% of calories from sat. Fat but you can measure your own lipids & see for yourself.

Sat fat: If your lipid blood tests are good on that diet, then no need to change, if you've too much ldl, then less fat would be advantageous.

Intake: Of saturated fat can lead to weight gain and elevated cholesterol. Weight reduction can lower risks of obesity and also lead to improvement in cholesterol by lowering Insulin resistance. Medication may still be required. Check w/your doctor.
