Unknown: It was widely believed that the low carb, high fat, atkins diet would cause a marked increase in LDL cholesterol and heart disease but it didn't. If you're normal weight and exercising regularly, it may not matter what you're eating but this has not been conclusively proven. As a cardiologist, I do not recommend 50% of calories from sat. Fat but you can measure your own lipids & see for yourself.

Unhealthy.: We generally feel that a diet high in saturated fat is unhealthy and can lead to heart disease and strokes, just to name a couple of problems. Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats are healthier, but generally we should keep our fat intake low.
