Hand exercises: Some basic hand exercises include squeezing an old tennis ball or racquet ball; and opening the hand with a rubber band (or similar item) around the tips of the fingers (opposite motion of squeezing.) another way to perform these exercises is to put your hands inside a sandbox, then opening and closing the hands and fingers inside the sand. See your doctor or hand therapist for specific exercises.

is physical therapy really going to help a bone spur in the wrist?

Pain and swelling: associated with a bone spur, or a arthritic joint may feel better with conservative methods such as Pt , ot, nsiads, ice for overuse, warmth for stiffness, splints for excessive force causing pain etc, but of course no one of these methods will alter the bone or joint. Much of the "treatment: for joint arthritis, bone spurs etc is palliative and we treat  symptoms "help" comes w symptom reduction

The trestment depends on the extent of the injury to the fibrocsrtilage - is it merely sprained (stretched) or is it torn? Physical therapy is indicated after appropriate stabilization and medical or surgical treatment.

rsi to wrist over past 10 months, last 5 months no injury, been doing physical therapy for last 2. however pain during hyperextension sometime, is it time for arthroscopy? or give more time for therap

Wrist pain : X-ray and an MRI / mr arthrogram of the wrist should have been performed for wrist pain lasting 5-10 months. Musculoskeletal ultrasound can also provide valuable information. An underlying cartilaginous tear or tendon disruption may be present. Arthroscopic surgery may help determine and treat the cause at the same time. Depending on the cause, prp & prolotherapy may be helpful.

if my wrist tissue is tight and i wanna loosen it the doctor said go to physical therapy and stretch it do u think doing that and also adding the massage gun would help with loosening my wrist tissue?

: Yes, occupational therapy evaluation and recommendations should help. Not sure if the massage gun would help as well, best will be to take it with you when meeting the therapist so that they can weigh in based on current changes of your wrist.

during/after physical therapy for my wrist my pinky/ring finger started shaking. what could be the reason?

Overuse tremor: Likely that the demanding exertion in your therapy sessions, particularly when exercising the muscles in your hand, result in residual spasm - shaking in the finger. Benign &amp; not a health risk. I'm assuming though, that your wrist problem has no related nerve injury, since you didn't mention that. Hope that helps.

i fractured my wrist about 5 weeks ago and have been in a brace. doc said to start using the brace less and also begin physical therapy. can i sleep without the brace?

I wouldn't : The random movements you may make during sleep may adversly effect your healing. I would not sleep with it off until your doc says you can.

i have spinal stenosis, balance problems and need a cane to walk? i have fallen twice, once i broke my wrist.  i am now going for physical therapy (3 times) and see no results so far.  could i go for laproscopic surgergy?

Depends: Balance problems from cervical stenosis should be adressessed by a spine surgeon before other elective procedures not as impt if lumbar stenosis depends on where the stenosis is , two falls from balance problems from lumbar stenosis dosent sound right maybe your falls are from a foot drop? If your balance issues are from cervical stenosis therapy wont help.

AN : An infection is unlikley to linger for three months untreated unless it were a slow growing process such as a fungal or atypical bacterium. These however are rare and it would be unusual to had an isolated infection of this type in the shoulder.

There may be more than one issue. A primary problem rested to the impingement that was diagnosed and referred pain form elsewhere. The neck may give referred pain to the shoulder as can believe it or not abdominal or gastrointestinal issues such as the gallbladder. Referred pain is not usually mechanical i.e. It downs not worsen with shoulder movement. But it is possible to have both things going on at once.
Finally the way in which pain is tolerated or not by different people is...Different
if things don't seem right...Talk to your current treating physician for this problem if you think you may need to follow up earlier that you both had planned.
