Pain and swelling: associated with a bone spur, or a arthritic joint may feel better with conservative methods such as Pt , ot, nsiads, ice for overuse, warmth for stiffness, splints for excessive force causing pain etc, but of course no one of these methods will alter the bone or joint. Much of the "treatment: for joint arthritis, bone spurs etc is palliative and we treat symptoms "help" comes w symptom reduction
