What are some physical therapy exercises i can do for my sprained hand?

Hand exercises: Some basic hand exercises include squeezing an old tennis ball or racquet ball; and opening the hand with a rubber band (or similar item) around the tips of the fingers (opposite motion of squeezing.) another way to perform these exercises is to put your hands inside a sandbox, then opening and closing the hands and fingers inside the sand. See your doctor or hand therapist for specific exercises.

Gentle...: Once your symptoms start to improve, you should start trying to increase your motion, but gently. Increase the motion as tolerated. Once you have regained functional motion (able to do most activities) then start strengthening exercises to improve grasp and pinch. Wrist flexion extension exercises with light weight should be initiated last.
