You are mistaken: I believe you are referring to your pulse or heart rate which is ex pressed as beats per minute.  Blood pressure is a measurement that is expressed in millimeters of mercury.

BP: His BP is a bit too high. The national expert commission for BP (JNC) now names high bp at 140/90.  Data over 50 years indicate that sustained BP over 140/90 can cause stroke, heart attack, and kidney injury.  Modifying risk factors is essential -- low salt, low saturated fat, low sugar, achieving ideal wt, no smoking, regular exercise, less stress -- all matter. His H R is a bit low, too.

i have been taking anywhere from .25 to .75 mg. xanax for years to sleep. my blood pressure runs low. (102 - 120) i have been prescribed toprol xl 24 hr 25mg  tablets now for my pvc's which i get 6.1 per minute. will toprol put me in danger?

: Side effects of toprol, a beta blocker,include slowing of heart rate, lowering of blood pressure and fatigue. Did your outpatient holter monitor show any high grade ventricular irritability, like runs? Are your PVC's symptomatic? Do you have structural heart disease. If not, they may be benign&amp;require no treatment. A cardiologist who specializes in electrophysiology is best to advise&amp;follow you.

If BP is above 140 systolic or 90 diastolic then it needs attention. Weight loss, exercise, avoiding some medications and alcohol can all help. Most people need medications. There are lots of effective ones, most with minimal side effects. Best to see a doctor before the dmv.

: It would be best to find out what the ectopic beats are from before taking certain blood pressure medicines like beta blockers or calcium channel blockers as these medicines can affect the heart rate. Other medications for blood pressure do not affect the heart rate or rhythm so it does depend on the type of blood pressure medicine you are referring to.These are prescription medicines.

Yes: Your heart rate will respond to exercise/movement &amp; hormonal changes that fluctuate during the day. Even thinking there might be something wrong can trigger various stress hormones to increase the rate. It may also respond to various changes triggered by your metabolic work of digesting prior meals. The BP issue has little to do with natural changes.
