Treat don't beat!: Sustained high blood pressure is dangerous for the patient. It can cause heart attacks, strokes, and erection problems. If BP is above 140 systolic or 90 diastolic then it needs attention. Weight loss, exercise, avoiding some medications and alcohol can all help. Most people need medications. There are lots of effective ones, most with minimal side effects. Best to see a doctor before the dmv.
