I have been taking anywhere from .25 to .75 mg. xanax for years to sleep. my blood pressure runs low. (102 - 120) i have been prescribed toprol xl 24 hr 25mg tablets now for my pvc's which i get 6.1 per minute. will toprol put me in danger?

Side effects of toprol, a beta blocker,include slowing of heart rate, lowering of blood pressure and fatigue. Did your outpatient holter monitor show any high grade ventricular irritability, like runs? Are your PVC's symptomatic? Do you have structural heart disease. If not, they may be benign&require no treatment. A cardiologist who specializes in electrophysiology is best to advise&follow you.
