A member asked:

Is it normal for my heart to beat faster every now and then while doing nothing? i have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and i take my medication

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Your heart rate will respond to exercise/movement & hormonal changes that fluctuate during the day. Even thinking there might be something wrong can trigger various stress hormones to increase the rate. It may also respond to various changes triggered by your metabolic work of digesting prior meals. The BP issue has little to do with natural changes.
